The Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP) allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents to become permanent residents in Canada.
This immigration pathway was introduced to unite Canadian families with their loved ones. Moreover, there is also another program known as Super Visa Program that allows Canadian citizens to reunite with their families.
Under the Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP), the federal government immigration levels set specific entry targets. An intake of 23,500 new applicants will be accommodated into the country, where they will be awarded permanent residence in Canada.

Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship
In the previous years, the Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP) introduced a lottery system. In this system of selection, the random candidates were selected in a draw. In 2019, the system was reverted back, and first, come and serve bases were introduced.
To apply under this program of 2019, the applicants had to submit their application, commonly referred to as the Interest to Sponsor form, to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Moreover, if you had submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020, your sponsor application was accepted, and you were invited to apply for the 2021 intake. You are allowed to sponsor your parents and grandparents to Canada. After receiving an invitation to apply, there is two application that is submitted under this program. These two applications are:

- Permanent residence application
When both applications are approved, then you are required to sign an agreement.
