    Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

    The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is an employer-driven program. This pilot was launched in 2017 to attract skilled immigrants to the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. The purpose of this immigration pilot is to fill the demographic and economic needs of the Atlantic Provinces of Canada.

    Therefore, Atlantic Immigration Pilot operates in the four Atlantic provinces of Canada. This immigration pathway assists employers in hiring foreign skilled workers in Atlantic Provinces. Moreover, under this program, international graduates are also allowed to apply.

    • Provinces under AIPP

    The provinces of Canada that operate under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIPP) are:

    • Newfoundland and Labrador
    • Prince Edward Island
    • Nova Scotia
    • New Brunswick

    This program is only applicable to those candidates who intend to live and work in any of these four provinces.

    • Requirements
    • Valid Job Offer

    The basic requirement for the applicants to qualify for this program is to have a valid job offer. The applicants need to have a valid job offer from employers in the four Atlantic provinces. Moreover, to obtain a job offer, the applicants must have a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

    • Language Proficiency

    Language fluency is a primary requirement for the applicants willing for Canadian Immigration. The applicants are required to undertake the approved language tests for the language proficiency checkup. The language tests are for the assessment of the candidates in the following sectors of the English or French language:

    • Reading
    • Writing
    • Listening
    • Speaking

    The test must be taken within the previous two years, and the test should be valid when you apply for the application.

    The most commonly taken language test is IELTS.

    • Education

    For education, a Canadian high school diploma or any foreign equivalent degree is required. In foreign education, the candidates are required to undergo an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). There are various degree assessment organizations from where you can get an equivalency of your degree.

    These credential assessment bodies in Canada can provide equivalence:

    • WES
    • ICAS
    • IQAS
    • CES

     

    • Proof of funds

    The primary applicant must demonstrate sufficient funds to support oneself or his family members when they arrive in Canada.

    • Residence in Canada:

    The applicant must have an intention to live in the Atlantic Provinces.

    • Admissibility in Canada:

    The applicant must be admissible to Canada; they do not pose any threat to the country.

    • Programs

    The Atlantic Immigration Pilot is a two-way program. This means that this program is for both employers and skilled workers.

    • The skilled foreign workers can apply for the subprograms under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.
    • The designated employers can hire skilled foreign workers for economic support.

    The Immigration Programs under to hire workers are:

    • Atlantic High-skilled Program
    • Atlantic Intermediate-skilled Program
    • Atlantic International Graduate Program

    This program is for those applicants who possess a degree or diploma from a public-funded institution in the Atlantic provinces.

    Following are the requirements for this program.

    Requirements  
    Job Offer ·         The job offer must be from a designated employer under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, B, or C.

    ·         The job must be full-time/permanent and non-seasonal.

    Work Experience ·         No previous Work Experience is required for this program.
    Education ·         A complete 2-year degree from a DLI.

    ·         The institute must be in Atlantic province.

    ·         The applicant must have lived at least 16 months in the last two years of study.

    ·         The credential must have been completed within the previous 24-months.

     

    Language Proficiency ·         Canadian Level Benchmark (CLB) level 4 is required for an approved test.

    ·         The test can be in English or French.

    ·         A commonly taken test for English is IELTS.

    ·         The applicants need to prove their language proficiency in listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

     

    Proof of funds ·         The applicant must have sufficient proof of funds to live and to support the family.

     

    • Atlantic High-skilled Program

    The Atlantic High-Skilled Program is for skilled workers having professional job experiences and technical skills.

    Requirements  
    Job Offer ·         The job offer must be from a designated employer under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B.

    ·         The job must be full-time/permanent and non-seasonal.

    Work Experience ·         The applicant must possess job experience for 30 hours per week.

    ·         The experience must be within the last three years.

    ·         The job must be full-time/non-continuous or part-time.

    ·         The work experience must be paid work.

    ·         The work experience must be at skill type/level 0, A, or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

    ·         The job experience can be within Canada or foreign.

     

    Education ·         A high school diploma from DLI.

    ·         A foreign degree having an ECA.

    ·         The applicant must have lived at least 16 months in the last two years of study.

    ·         The credential must have been completed within the previous 24-months.

    Requirements  
    Job Offer ·         The job offer must be from a designated employer under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, B, or C.

    ·         The job must be full-time/permanent and non-seasonal.

    Work Experience ·         The applicant must have 12 months of work experience.

    ·         The applicant must possess job experience for 30 hours per week.

    ·         The experience must be within the last three years.

    ·         The job must be full-time/non-continuous or part-time.

    ·         The work experience must be paid work.

    ·         The work experience must be at skill type/level 0, A, B, or C of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

    ·         The job experience can be within Canada or foreign.

    • Settlement Plan

    The applicants are required to have a proper settlement plan when applying through the Atlantic Immigration Programs. The settlement plan is needed after receiving an employment offer.

    A settlement plan helps the immigrating families to settle their homes in Atlantic Canada. It provides the applicants with valuable resources and contacts. It enables the relocating families to contact and establish relations in the area.

    • Certificate of Endorsement

    The applicants must receive a Certificate of Endorsement before submitting the Permanent Residence Application. The employer provides the Certificate of Endorsement. This certificate is received in an email after the provincial endorsement.  The applicant must attach the certificate with the PR application.

    • Applying for Permanent Residence Through AIPP
